Currently enrolled UCI students wishing to add the B.A. in Music must complete the following:

A. Complete one of the following:
1. Take the Undergraduate Music Theory Placement Test, offered in Welcome Week each fall by the Music Department, and as a result of that test, place into MUSIC 16A; or
2. Complete MUSIC 25A Fundamentals of Music I

B. Complete one of the following 3 courses:
MUSIC 39A The Classical Tradition 1
MUSIC 39B The Classical Tradition 2
MUSIC 51 Music Technology
B.Mus. in Music

Currently enrolled UCI students wishing to add the B.Mus. in Music must pass an audition. Auditions are held each year, with prescreen video submissions due in late fall and second round in-person auditions held in late January. Art

Course grades (Prior to Fall 2022) Completion of ONE course chosen from Art 1A, 1B, 1C or Art 9A and ONE Art History course
